Old Beginnings

Are you familiar with the phrase "Everything old is new again?" It's an older expression popularized in the 1970s, the title of a song written by Peter Allen and Carole Bayer Sager which appeared in the film All That Jazz. It came to mind at the start of the new year when I began to ponder the "new year, new me" adage. I thought, "What's wrong with the old me?"
I am revisiting my blogging. This year, a theme will emerge. I've already got an idea of where this may go. But first, let me introduce myself.
Meet the Author
1. I’m a fan of horror. Mostly folk horror. Not really into blood for blood’s sake but I will laugh out loud at extreme, gratuitous killings. I find them preposterous.
2. Writing soothes my soul. It helps me calm my brain. Too much going on up there.
3. Reading soothes my soul. Fiction and nonfiction. I usually read two books at a time, nonfiction in the morning. Fiction before bed.
4. I like sandwiches. I can’t just eat mayonnaise.
5. I like cake. I can’t just eat frosting, but I have.
6. I have two daughters in college, twins. Always wanted to be a mom but took my damn time, giving birth at 39.
7. Menopause both sucks and is freeing. The no more f**ks thing is real.
8. I have three cats and a little dog. I introduce them as my last pets.
9. I love the water. Not the heat. (The photo for this blog post, taken from my car in Biloxi. The gulf glittering in December for my own delight.)
10. There are many stories in my head and I hope you hang around for them!
Beginning in February, I plan start writing about horror again. If you would like to receive these blogs earlier, join my newsletter. Email me with your address through the Contact page on this site or find me on Instagram.
All my horrific best,
Greta
